About
Grief is a natural reaction to the loss of life, relationships, innocence, dreams, or the way things used to be. Racism has always caused tremendous, violent losses, which we have experienced all too clearly in recent weeks. Our tendency is to skip grieving because it seems scary and can be difficult. But this only causes more pain and confusion, allowing destructive cycles to continue. If we wish to bring about true and lasting transformation, we will first need to learn how to handle our grief and move through it, both individually and collectively. In this 1.5-hour workshop, racial healing expert Milagros Phillips will guide us through: -The stages of grief as they relate to racism -The importance of allowing grief to happen -How to begin moving through grief into healing
